KINLink (Kinship care Informational Network) is a web-based
informational network/resource developed specifically to address the needs
of kinship care families. In other words, it is a place kinship caregivers
can go to find agencies and other resources that can assist them in their
time of need.
This site lists resources relating to crisis needs, education, grandparent services/support groups, housing, health, legal, mental health and tangible aid. For the initial launch, the areas of concentration are specific to southwestern Pennsylvania and include Allegheny, Armstrong, Beaver, Butler, Washington, and Westmoreland Counties. There are also state, federal and national resources listed. Our hope is to soon expand the system to include other counties throughout Pennsylvania. Please know that this new site is a “work in progress”. It was our goal to get the resources organized and on the web as quickly as possible. We are continuing the development of the site to add new resources, update exiting ones and plan to enhance the searchability function so users can easily get to the specific information they seek. The KINLink website is sponsored by A Second Chance, Inc. as a service to kinship caregivers. |
